I was born and raised in Germany, studied International Travel & Tourism Industry in the Netherlands and Spain, started working in Gastronomy when I was 16, and during the studies started to work in luxury Hotels on the Canary Islands. Going through different departments showed me the needs of High End Clientele in my early career years. After a few years I moved to Mallorca – Balearic Islands and started working for a Swiss High End Golf Tour Operator called Golfmotion where I broadened my horizons in terms of several different luxury hotel groups around the world. I left the company after 15 months because I did not identify with the product of Golf due to a lot of water usage while I did not have water in my shower. After 1 year of working and traveling in Australia, New Zealand, the South Pacific and Asia I came back to Golfmotion, something I never imagined, but I had missed organising trips for my clients.
However at the same time I always wanted to grow and go back to the Hotel side, so this is when I accepted the challenge of opening and managing a small Boutique Hotel in the heart of Palma de Mallorca. It was a another great experience, but it was too small so I got bored very quickly when it was all working exceptionally well. After 9 months I got called in from Hyatt as a MICE Sales Manager for the Park Hyatt Mallorca…that was only 3 months until COVID started and the world in Tourism broke together. I was trying to find new ways in Boat and Real estate Business, when the owner of Golfmotion called me in for some help and rescue. I accepted another risky challenge and in the meantime did a loooot of research about the sustainability in Golf Tourism and found out the positive parts about Golf for the environment and got completely into another dimension of Golf Tourism when looking deeply into types of Grass, recycled waters, bird species etc etc. So over the years I realized more and more that there is actually a lot of sustainability in Golf Tourism especially in the Southern regions where water always has been an issue and by law only allows the usage of recycled water.
Over the years I can say I made my job my passion and it became my life.
I have visited so many interesting properties that I wanted to promote for the Golfers, but some just do not work for Golfers but still I wanted to show them to the world, because these properties are special, sustainable and unique, they are one of a kind.
Thats why I decided to create SOLARA Signature Travels and give the Hotels that do not work well with our Golfers a second chance with another group of clients looking for pure Luxury and Sustainability at once.
